A commission through Woodland Trust Scotland alongside Arkaig Community Forest this public art collaborative project combines with designer, Luke Gregg who designed and built the caskets, writer Leonie Charlton who created the text and young artist Finn Watt who created the maps for the treasure trail, 'Ulaidh'. I worked with the local community to design the 'coins' as embossed prints to be used alongside a map of the Arkaig Forest Art initiative celebrating the community ownership of native woodland. The designs combine themes from the Jacobite era symbolism associated with native flora and fauna found in the forest. Further artworks by contemporary Scottish artists can be found within the forest on the trail.
Loch Arkaig Pine Forest is one of the UK's last remaining fragments of native Caledonian pinewood. It is cared for by Arkaig Community Forest in partnership with Woodland Trust Scotland.
